Senior Utility Engineer

Responsibilities

Provide project engineering and utility coordination with a focus on transportation projects and public transportation clients throughout the Southern California Region
Develop utility basemaps, coordinate with utility owners and agencies, develop relocation strategies, assist in preparation of cost estimates, preparation of engineering plans and specification for utility relocations
Work independently as well as assist groups of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/task
Be involved in highway and railroad utility design and plans production for utility owners and Municipal clients
Perform other duties as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree
A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license
Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills and ability to work with various teams
Project management skills desirable
Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
Must have coordinated survey, grading, drainage and utilities and layout of various site items is a plus
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred

California PE certification
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to read and understand civil transportation engineering design plans
Ability to read and understand utility installation and adjustment plans
Ability to prepare pipeline drawings: plan view, pipeline profiles, cross sections, and utility details
Experience delivering Caltrans drainage projects
Preference given to local candidates
