Responsibilities
Perform monthly revenue accounting close activities and deliverables (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, revenue reserve calculations, month-end analytics, etc.)
Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
Complete ASC 606 checklists for new revenue generating contracts
Help prepare revenue disclosures for SEC filings
Be familiar with item-based revenue recognition for virtual goods
Be familiar with revenue recognition for advertising arrangements
Manage accurate and compliant recording of transactions while adhering to accounting standards
Coordinate internal and external audit requests including preparation of supporting reports and documentation and perform SOX internal controls over assigned areas
Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts to resolve billing/invoice inquiries, discrepancies, problems, etc
Continuously improve the automation of the revenue recognition processes and system efficiencies
Work on ad hoc projects and research accounting topics
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree (or equivalent work experience)
5+ years of relevant experience
Strong grasp of accounting principles and standards (US GAAP), with 2+ years experience working on areas involving ASC 606
Experience with internal controls and external audit processes
Experience working with cross-functional teams
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
Willingness to contribute beyond the defined role to meet our needs as circumstances require
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Proactive and eager to own your domains, leveraging your growing expertise to mentor and train junior members of the team
A strong collaborator, excelling in team environments & applying investigative skills to achieve goals
An excellent communicator and have the ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in order to meet team goals and deadlines
Able to work independently and resolve issues with general guidance
A team player who is willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances require
Preferred
CPA a plus
Experience related to NetSuite, SQL, Tableau, Floqast, Alteryx, Pigment and Zip a plus
