Electrical Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

Work in a cutting-edge, cross-functional engineering team environment
Under the direction of a mentor, you will:
Research various components for use in our design
Execute test plans and experiments using various lab equipment such as the thermal chambers and labview software. Document results and communicate to various stakeholders
Service equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuit modules, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices
Introduced to industry standards such as IPC-620A; soldering practices, NFPA 79 (Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery); the National Electric Code; IEC; and proper application of these standards
Create documentation packages including CAD drawings and BOM
Design and create prototype builds of various subsystems utlizing industry best practices
Upholding the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork
Demonstrating behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct
It is the responsibility of every Rapiscan/AS&E employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem
Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business

Required

Enrolled in an accredited program for Bachelor of Science in Engineering with major in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
Enrolled in an accredited program for Associates degree in a related Engineering field
Completed course work on Basic Circuit and/or Electronics
Experience with use of standard test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and labview programs
Must have PC experience with Microsoft office packages i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
