Defense Technology - Engineering Technician

Safariland is committed to saving lives through innovative defense technology. They are seeking an Engineering Technician to assist engineers in the planning, design, development, and testing of products for the Less Lethal product line, utilizing engineering tools and providing technical support.

Retail

Responsibilities

Work closely with Engineers on developmental projects and produce prototype samples of varying degrees of complexity and material types
Assist in product testing and recording data
Analyze and evaluate results during and after product testing
Provide interactive feedback to engineering team on samples and/or issues
Compile testing data and reports - Conduct machine maintenance, as required
Act as product liaison between development and manufacturing
Support ISO 9001 QMS
Perform other duties consistent with the position as required or assigned

Required

0-3+ years' experience as an engineering technician in supporting mechanical design engineering efforts in a hands-on product development, manufacturing, or test and evaluation environment
CAD and/or Solid Works experience
Machining /fabrication experience
Knowledge of machine shop equipment and procedures
Proficient in various machine operations
Experience with experimental data and writing technical reports
Good understanding of fundamental engineering and physical principles
Comfortable with firearms and explosives
Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel)
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills
Must be able to work independently with minimum support from engineers
Must be mechanically inclined and capable of constructing/modifying test fixtures utilizing standard electrical tools
Familiar with set-up and operation of instrumentation and data acquisition systems in support of product testing
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
Knowledge of CNC milling is a plus
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Associate's Degree preferred
Vocational training and/or relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education
