Senior Electrical Engineer – Healthcare

They are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Healthcare who will perform electrical system design, manage large-scale projects, and mentor design engineers. The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering and project management, with a focus on healthcare projects.

Responsibilities
Perform field surveys for electrical system design, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports
Prepare electrical schematic designs
Design power single line and riser diagrams
Perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM
Select lighting fixtures and power equipment
Perform lighting and power circuiting
Design and coordinate lighting control systems
Prepare fire alarm device layouts based on the International Fire Code and NFPA 72
Develop fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operations
Prepare enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details
Utilize CAD/BIM standards effectively
Apply California Electrical Code and Energy Standards to medium- and low-voltage system design
Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural disciplines
Edit project specifications
Manage multiple large-scale projects with senior engineers and sub-consultants
Mentor design engineers
Prepare client proposals independently
Develop new business and strengthen relationships with existing clients
Review and respond to RFIs
Review equipment submittals
Perform punch walks and prepare punch list reports
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
Ability to lead electrical design projects and manage design teams
Demonstrated project management strengths
Proficient using AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit
Familiarity with HCAI requirements
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and skilled at identifying underlying issues
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license
