Responsibilities

Assist the Airport Services Manager in directing maintenance and repair programs for the City's municipal airport
Direct activities of employees engaged in maintaining and repairing airfields, runways, ramps, roadways, and grounds
Direct a work order system to monitor completion of projects and advise administrative superiors on maintenance and construction projects
Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with engineering personnel, contractors, and building, electrical, and automotive maintenance staff

Required

A valid driver's license
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in airport operations or airport maintenance or fields related to the maintenance and repair of airfields, airport roadways or grounds
High School Diploma or GED AND five (5) years of full-time experience working at a Part 139 certificated airport, which must have involved work in at least two of the following areas: automotive maintenance and repair, grounds maintenance for a major facility, concrete and asphalt pavement installation and repair, road way construction management, grading and excavation, demolition, including tear down and haul away of structures AND at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in airport operations or airport maintenance or fields related to the maintenance and repair of airfields, airport roadways or grounds
If hired, Aviation employees must maintain all required licenses, permits, certificates, and auto liability insurance eligibility during the duration of their employment
Candidates must pass a personal, criminal, and employment background check required under federal regulations
Good moral character is required of all applicants
Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify any driver's license, education, and/or professional license claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification
High School Diploma and General Equivalency Diploma (GED) must be issued by a state Department of Education or an institution recognized by a state Department of Education
Accredited colleges and universities must be accredited as a college or university by an organization that is recognized by the USDE (United States Department of Education)
