Responsibilities
Process payments via multiple payment methods (ACH, checks and credit cards) from various sources (lockbox, customer portal & branch payments)
Post payments to customer accounts and apply to related invoices per customer remittance. Involves daily contact with customers and team members to determine proper application
Daily reconciliation of posted payments to banking reports. Review unapplied cash reports to determine cash application
Respond to incoming phone calls from Lansing associates and customers by resolving credit-related issues. Involves decision-making on managing past due accounts, responding to billing questions, and assist associates with customer portal & payment application issues
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to work accurately but quickly to handle a high transaction volume
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet daily deadlines
Strong problem solving/decision-making skills
Ability to reconcile accounting records
Ability to work with a strong attention to detail
Strong customer focus
Communication Proficiency
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Basic proficiency with Excel and Word
High school diploma
2 years+ related experience in an accounting environment
Preferred
Bachelor's degree is a plus, but not required
