Responsibilities

Track and evaluate pending legislation and regulations that may impact NetJets and the aviation industry; proactively work to advance NetJets’s interests

Develop and execute strategies on legislative, policy, regulatory, and political issues affecting NetJets

Respond to legislative and regulatory inquiries/needs at the state and local levels, and create opportunities to improve legislators’ and regulators’ understanding of NetJets and its business

Represent NetJets at political and industry events

Understand and articulate in a compelling way NetJets’s position on key legislative and regulatory issues

Establish constructive and lasting relationships with elected and appointed officials at the state and local level, investing time and energy in prioritized networking activity

Prepare communications to key stakeholders (employees, public officials, etc.) about pertinent issues (legislation, NetJets investment projects, business changes, etc.)

Apprise senior management of pertinent legislative and regulatory issues and other external factors that could affect the business

Required

Bachelor's in Economics or Legal

8-10 years of experience

Experience in either a government affairs role or as a staff member of a state or federal legislative or regulatory body

Thorough understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes and landscape

Strong working relationships with legislative and regulatory officials and staff

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with public officials and their staffs

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management as well as external individuals and groups

Ability to analyze and interpret legislation and policy documents

Skills related to legislative advocacy, negotiation and persuasion

Ability to develop and implement strategic plans as well as responding to short-term objectives

Attention to detail and strong follow-through
