Mental Health Clinician (Pediatrics Developmental Health and Pediatrics - Galveston)
The University of Texas Medical Branch is seeking a full-time Mental Health Clinician to join their multidisciplinary team in the Department of Pediatrics. This role involves providing mental health evaluation and therapeutic intervention to pediatric patients, working closely with psychologists and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
Contributes to the success of the UTMB Managed Care organization
Interviews, evaluates and diagnoses patients identified as having mental health needs
Provides individual and group psychotherapy and crisis intervention
Develops, implements and reviews Individual Treatment Plans
Assisting with training and education of mental health, medical and other staff
Assists in the implementation of Quality Improvement/Quality Management (QI/QM) programs and monitoring compliance with required policies, procedures and standards
Provides routine consultation and communication with supervisor and/or attending provider regarding the status of assigned patients
Completes clinically appropriate and timely documentation
Liaisons with patients, patient families, on-site departments and community agencies to coordinate current treatment and/or facilitate aftercare services
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
Licensure or eligible for licensure as a Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, or Social Worker
Preferred
U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S
Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education
At least one year of clinical experience in pediatrics
