Manager, Market Analytics and Planning

Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) is an alliance of over 140 electric and natural gas utilities and energy efficiency organizations focused on increasing energy efficiency in the Northwest. The Manager, Market Analytics and Planning will lead the MAP team in delivering analyses to guide energy efficiency initiatives and will serve as an internal consultant to NEEA leadership on strategic decisions and initiative planning.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance, mentoring/coaching to analysts and corresponding program teams to ensure Market Transformation program strategy and logic model(s) are clear, measurable, and modeled appropriately
Manage staff in building defensible energy efficiency models, ensuring all key model assumptions, outputs and documentation are thoroughly reviewed
Identify and interpret market trends, combine various data sources to create forecasts, conduct risk and opportunity sensitivity analysis, and effectively assess and manage data risks and requirements
Provide direct analytic support to aid program teams and related efforts. Develop strategic relationships with funders to build a discrete value stream with data and analytics
Partner with Director of Market Analytics, Research and Evaluation and peer managers to develop and support the strategic positioning, key deliverables and continuous improvement efforts of the department to increase value to the organization and to external stakeholders
Lead the internal reporting efforts for both the electric and gas portfolio to ensure visibility of progress, risks and opportunities to NEEA leadership
Lead cross functional efforts with the Market Research and Evaluation team, Portfolio Management Office, and Stakeholder Relations team to ensure business reporting deliverables are appropriately scoped, timelines are met, and create effective messaging to Board of Directors and other high-profile funder committees
Present methodology updates or information clearly and consistently, using best practices in the areas of evaluation, analytics and data visualization
Serve as co-lead on Cost Effectiveness Advisory Committee meetings
Represent NEEA’s work with funders in a defensible manner
Other duties, which may be necessary or desirable to support the organization’s success
As a first-line supervisor, responsibilities include hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; recognizing achievements; addressing concerns; and resolving problems

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Business Administration, Data Science or related discipline required
At least 7 years of applicable work experience, including experience in quantitative modeling, forecasting and reporting
Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring and influencing professional staff, with strong skills in staff development, team building, and the ability to listen, coach, and provide constructive feedback to support high-functioning teams
Exceptional analytical skills and ability to synthesize and communicate findings so that they are actionable
Superb communication and influence management skills, with the ability to excel working in a cross-functional team environment
Ability to quickly comprehend NEEA's portfolio of energy efficiency activities and their relevance to NEEA's market transformation goals. High degree of adaptability and the ability to help define and refine the position to meet desired outcomes
Experienced project manager with skills to develop and manage analytic project plans and metrics
Ability to gather and translate essential information from independent research and market and program strategy to create defensible long-term analytical forecasts that clearly identify risks and opportunities
Experience in leading and facilitating stakeholder groups
Experience in working on cross-functional teams
Familiarity with statistical techniques and data analysis in R, Python or SQL
An equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties will also be considered
