Responsibilities
Configure and commission industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA interfaces (Allen Bradley, Siemens, FactoryTalk, Intouch Wonderware, WinCC Professional)
Troubleshoot automation systems on-site and remotely, diagnosing electrical, control logic, and communication faults
Support installation, calibration, and parameter configuration for industrial devices such as VFDs, servo motors, flowmeters, pressure transmitters, and temperature sensors
Develop and modify PLC and HMI programs to meet specific project or customer requirements
Verify system functionality through simulation, testing, and site acceptance procedures
Interface with third-party subsystems and devices using industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, IO-Link, Peer-to-Peer Messaging)
Supervise wiring, panel installation, and field instrument integration during equipment setup
Work closely with Project Managers and Support team to define customer configurations and support technical inquiries
Conduct system training, demonstrations, and customer handovers
Document technical issues, service activities, and lessons learned for continuous improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering (specialization in control systems or automation preferred)
5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, commissioning, or field service roles
Proven experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens Step 7/TIA Portal) and HMI/SCADA configuration
Knowledge of industrial safety standards and control system best practices
Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, and network diagrams
Ability to travel up to 60% for commissioning and customer support assignments
A qualified electrician diploma or equivalent practical electrical experience is an asset
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills under tight deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities with customers and team members
Comfortable working independently in industrial and manufacturing environments
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Physically able to perform tasks related to system setup, calibration, and troubleshooting
Valid Driver licence
A valid passport and the ability to travel frequently domestically or internationally
