Part Time - Arboretum/OPP Horticulture Intern
Penn State University is offering paid internships for students interested in horticulture and related disciplines. Interns will learn horticultural and grounds management practices while assisting with day-to-day garden operations and participating in educational components including on-campus sessions and field trips.

Responsibilities
Installation of the Arboretum’s summer floral display
Training in sustainable gardening techniques
Plant identification
Pruning techniques
Water feature maintenance
Providing assistance to volunteers
Skills training in the use of hand tools, utility vehicles and power equipment
Qualification
Required
Applicants must be currently enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate degree program
Academic coursework in horticulture, landscape contracting, landscape architecture, agriculture, plant science, or related fields is an asset
Preferred
Preference will be given to candidates who can explain how this opportunity will help them reach their career goals
