Responsibilities
Pick up and deliver students in a district-owned van to various sites as requested, including to or from school to shelters, hotels, and other temporary nighttime locations
Maintain the van and report all necessary repairs or damage
Keep work areas clean and safe
Follow all district, program, local and state guidelines
Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record and be at least 21 years old
Must pass physical exam and drug/alcohol tests, and undergo reference and security checks
Possess experience in transporting individuals through public or private service, such as bus driver, law enforcement, EMS or another similar role
Ability to work a variable, on-call schedule and work effectively with PreK – high school age student van riders experiencing homelessness
Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors, driving in all weather conditions
Ability to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents from culturally diverse backgrounds and varied socio-economic levels
Maintain a good appearance and work attitude
Must demonstrate good communication skills as well as punctuality
Physical ability to perform assigned tasks
Exhibit willingness to assist and cooperate with the supervisor, coordinator, co-workers and other staff
