ENGINEER INDUSTRIAL SKILLBRIDGE INTERN
Newport News Shipbuilding is the largest industrial employer in Virginia, focusing on designing and building U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. The Engineer Industrial SkillBridge Intern will analyze and design workflows to improve efficiencies in production facilities and will work closely with a mentor and senior leadership during the internship.

Responsibilities
Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel
May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations
Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems
On the basis of these studies, develops and implements plans and programs for facility modifications and revisions to operating methods
May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities
Qualification
Required
US Citizenship Required for this Position: Yes
Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
Active-Duty Military ONLY within final 180 days of active-duty service
Transitioning Military candidates can begin applying within final 12 months of military service
