Deputy Director of Health Services (Facilities & Capital Projects)
Contra Costa College is seeking a Deputy Director of Health Services to oversee and direct all health facilities and capital projects. The role involves providing administrative oversight, leading a team, managing budgets, and ensuring project execution aligns with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Lead planning and execution of major construction, renovation, and expansion projects
Work with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure projects meet budget, timeline, and healthcare-specific requirements
Oversee space planning and infrastructure improvements
Develop and manage budgets for facilities operations and capital projects
Ensure cost-effective maintenance and project execution
Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies
Collaborate with hospital leadership, clinical departments, and public agencies to ensure facility needs support patient care and operational goals
Qualification
Required
Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License
Possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Public Health, Business or Public Administration, Social or Behavioral Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Work, or a closely related field
Five (5) years of full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) professional management experience in a health or human services agency, at least three (3) years of which must have been in an executive-level position within a large diverse program or public agency providing health or human services to the public or professional management experience in budget analysis/development, finance management or facilities management and capital project planning in a health or human services public agency providing supervision to professional staff
Possession and maintenance of a valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) issued by the State of California, OR a Certified Health Financial Professional (CHFP) issued by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), OR a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) issued by the Association of Government Accountants, OR a Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) issued by the Government Finance Officer's Association
Preferred
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Business or Public Administration, Social or Behavioral Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Work, Finance, Accounting, Architecture, Engineering, Construction/Project Management, Urban Planning, or Facilities Management
A minimum of three (3) additional years of relevant work experience, with at least two (2) years in an executive-level role within a large, diverse program or public agency providing health or human services to the public
