2nd shift team leader
Stoneridge has designed and manufactured advanced technologies for vehicle OEMs since 1965. The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a work cell, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety while supporting employees and production activities.

Responsibilities
Ensure the highest productivity level within the work area
Perform, coordinate and stage all necessary items for die & machine changeovers (Paperwork, fixtures, dies, material, etc.)
Assist in rack exchange and/or small lot container replenishment at line side
Troubleshoot and make minor machine adjustments. Contact support groups as needed
Assist Group Leader in moving manpower within work area to ensure optimum utilization
Monitor equipment & tooling for needed preventative maintenance and repairs
Monitor inventory levels (assembly) of all component parts
Notify Materials Department at least 24 hours in advance when need items are running low
Communicate problems, issues, concerns, and opportunities to Group Leaders. I.E. harassment concerns, horseplay, wasting company time, violation of safety rules, etc
Run specific production operations through breaks, to cover absenteeism and/or as needed
Maintain ability to perform all operations in assigned areas in cycle time by running the operations weekly
Develop and maintain safety processes and records and audit the use of PPE by employees
Develop 5’S tasking, perform daily 5S activities and process layered audits
Maintain housekeeping and equipment in assigned work areas
Ensure the highest quality level within work area
Keep the presses or weld tooling operating by responding to all quality issues
Ensure hourly checks are performed and verify accuracy of checks
Sign and approve 1st piece, QIS and Setup
Maintain problem solving boards and SQCDM charts in assigned areas
Develop and implement countermeasures for short- and long-term problems
Attend and participate in weekly Quality meetings
Perform daily Layered Process Audits
Audit and train employees in standardized work instructions and work area
Train new employees assigned to work area in Safety, Quality and Productivity
Assist in further training and development for self and current employees
Audit and train employees in SPC
Perform new model training with employees
Facilitate monthly department meeting and continuous improvement activities with Group Leader. (Meetings will discuss the following: Safety, Quality, Productivity and equipment concerns and/or improvements.)
Lead by example with model behavior and adherence to company policies and procedures
Develop and maintain standardized task and work assignments
Update standardized work by completing stopwatch studies on assigned operations and applying continuous improvement methodology and problem solving
Must have good attendance. Unsatisfactory attendance as defined by the Company’s Attendance Policy may result in loss of assigned Team Leader position
Information brought to the Team Lead in confidence must be kept confidential. Personal and private information must only be discussed with assigned Group Leader or a Human Resources Representative
Ensure Operator Training Checklist is completed, signed off and returned to HR for record retention per L-QS-6.2.2-W002_Operator Training
Qualification
Required
Strong leadership qualities
Ability to build strong relationship with customers and employees
Able and willing to work flexible and extended hours as required
Attendance record in last rolling 12 months not exceeding 3% absenteeism
Demonstrated proficiency in performance of all jobs in the team
Demonstrated working knowledge of the Quality requirements & procedures in the work cell/area
Demonstrated understanding & working knowledge of plant Safety requirements/procedures
Knowledge of PPE required for every job
Demonstrated knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedure for all equipment in Team's work cell/area
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Demonstrates continuous improvement attitude toward his/her work
High school diploma or equivalent; three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
