Senior UX/UI Designer

The Contingent is seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer who will apply user-centered design principles to enhance the workflow and visual appeal of their websites and products. The role involves designing complex applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and utilizing user research to inform design decisions.

Responsibilities

Work to design wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity visual designs to effectively communicate design concepts and interactions
Establishing and managing updates for component libraries concurrent with product design projects
Managing timelines effectively to optimize productivity and deliver projects within allocated schedules with the resources available
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, marketers, and stakeholders, to gather requirements, understand user needs, and translate them into innovative design solutions. Demonstrate flexibility and creative problem solving as requirements or business realities shift
Consider user research to inform design decisions, iterating designs based on user insights and data-driven analysis. Research user pain points and strategize ways to improve products. Work with product managers to scope A/B testing, data analysis, and continuous iteration to improve conversion rates, user engagement, and overall product performance
Collaborate with the development team to ensure accurate implementation of design elements, while considering technical constraints and system limitations. Handoff production-ready designs with accurate functional annotations and across multiple breakpoints in order to have smooth handoffs to development teams
Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field of product design, and proactively apply them to improve our design process and deliver exceptional user experiences

Required

Bachelor's or master's degree in design, human-centered design, or a related field
Five plus years of professional UX or UI design experience
Strong portfolio displaying your design expertise, including examples of projects that have been optimized over time for performance
Extensive experience as a UX/UI Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful design projects
Expertise in design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools like InVision or Axure
Deep knowledge of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility standards
Ability to articulate design concepts and rationale clearly to stakeholders and team members
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address design challenges effectively
Experience meeting and complying with WCAG 2.0 AA and/or ADA guidelines
Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to collaborate effectively with developers
Familiarity with design systems and frameworks like Material Design or Bootstrap
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
Demonstrated knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design decisions
Experience in UI UX design working with graphics and designing modern, intuitive, user-friendly interfaces complex applications, and integrations with 3rd party systems
Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility standards
Experience with user research methodologies, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and articulate design concepts and rationale to diverse stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and strategically about design challenges
Experience working in agile development environments and collaborating with engineering teams
Ability to exercise critical and creative thinking skills
