Responsibilities
Inspect and approve the work performed by contractors to ensure it meets quality and safety standards
Provide day-to-day guidance and support to maintenance staff as needed
Review assigned work orders and confirm that the proper tools, equipment, and materials are available for daily tasks
Plan the sequence of work and assign tasks to team members to keep projects on schedule
Work alongside the maintenance team and set the pace for completing tasks efficiently
Maintain required records, logs, and documentation for your supervisor
Perform major repairs, replacements, installations, and modifications on HVAC and refrigeration systems of various sizes
Fabricate or repair metal components for plant operations or production machinery
Repair high- and low-pressure gas, steam, and water systems
Perform specialized welding, including work with aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and stainless steel
Serve as a lead worker by assisting with the training and development of maintenance staff
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant
Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant
Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus one year of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant
A criminal background check will be required of all selected applicants
An offer of employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment background check
