Facility Electrical Engineer
GE Aerospace is a leader in aviation technology, and they are seeking a Facility Electrical Engineer to lead and assist in the design, operations, maintenance, and optimization of facility and utility electrical systems. Responsibilities
Performing technical work specific to electrical, equipment review, etc. Sign off on engineering design & certifications. Work with external vendors
Make sure new designs meet GE Aerospace and industry standards for all regulatory and safety requirements
Diagnose and resolve electrical and utility system issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address facility electrical related challenges
Develop new solutions under guidance and / or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations
Work together with business leadership at SPB and EB levels
Specify needs, communicate about project approach and present outcomes of research done
Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area
Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions
A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Electrical Engineering experience + minimum of 3 years high voltage experience)
Preferred
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Proven analytical and organizational ability
Experience specifying, installing, testing and operating electrical equipment
Experience with voltage levels for equipment vary from 138KV, 480 V and 280/120V
Supporting maintenance teams
Lighting controls
Power monitoring and metering equipment
Arc Flash studies and power protection schemes
Directing and organizing groups of electricians
Experience with NFPA 70, 70 B and 70E
