Responsibilities
Work as part of a Global V&V team supporting Li-Ion and Lead-acid product related NPI Activities
Conduct battery electrical performance testing
Support testing at 3rd party laboratories
Work with external parties on fixture design and test instrumentation & optimization
Generate test results and supporting data in reports
Manage, maintain, and calibrate lab test equipment
Provide product design enhancement suggestions
Operate electronic test equipment and HV battery equipment
Qualification
Required
Good mechanical knowledge of hand tools and power equipment
Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical principles
Problem solving and diagnostic skills
Technical 2-year degree in an engineering discipline or military experience in related field
2+ years of battery test experience
Requires the use of MS office suite of products, especially Excel
Familiar with quality standards (ISO 9001 & 17025, equipment metrology)
Proficient in Microsoft Office program suite
Detailed report writing skills
Previous experience of delivering measurable results in a busy environment
Experience of working with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives
Good written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of health and safety standards
Demonstrate a high degree of safety practices in the workplace
Familiar with 5S and Six Sigma lean enterprise initiatives
Ambitious and career minded individual
Strong interpersonal & communication skills
Ability to lift up to 50lbs daily
Willingness to travel 5% of the time
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee
Must be able to differentiate colors
Risk of electrical shock
This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyone's safety
Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times
Preferred
Software development experience with test communication protocols, including Bitrode LCN programming language
Experience collaborating with department team members
Experience maintaining safe work practices and environment
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
Previous experience working with industrial battery technology
