Responsibilities

Understanding Employee Benefits: Learning about different types of employee benefits, including health insurance, ancillary plans, wellness programs, and other perks
Client Communication : Supporting the team in drafting benefits brochures, benefit education presentations, or other communications to clients regarding their benefits options and updates
Benefits Administration : Understanding the processes involved in administering employee benefits, including enrollment, claims processing, and compliance
Meeting Preparation : Aiding in the preparation for client meetings or presentations, including gathering relevant materials and creating presentations
Project Management: Participating in projects related to benefits planning, implementation, or evaluation, which can enhance organizational and time-management skills
Interpersonal Skills: Building interpersonal skills through interactions with clients, colleagues, and vendors, which is essential for working in a team-oriented environment
Regulatory Knowledge: Gaining insight into laws and regulations governing employee benefits, such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and COBRA

Required

Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in a program related to one of our host departments (Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management and Insurance)

Preferred

Interest in insurance-related roles; involvement in insurance clubs or Gamma Iota Sigma
Students anticipated to graduate in Spring 2026, December 2026, or Spring 2027
Previous work or internship experience in a professional services or similar environment
An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to problem-solve, think critically, and provide creative solutions
