Retail

Responsibilities

Develops knowledge base of different systems within the Distribution Center
Communicates effectively with others to minimize potential downtime of equipment
Follows work orders in achieving productivity
Makes sure workmanship is of the highest quality
Ensures all material handling equipment batteries are properly maintained for efficient performance
Follows set safety procedures and guidelines to maximize personal safety
Performs minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment); inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; dismantling equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts; diagnose problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary; utilizing hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment; providing prompt response to emergency calls; and documenting repair activities
Manages work orders and routine maintenance schedules by completing and providing required written and electronic information (for example, expense vouchers, work orders, maintenance logs); requesting parts for maintenance or repair work; recording parts usage; complying with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines; ensuring quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulation
Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment
Follows all Company policies and procedures
All other duties as assigned

Required

Able to perform essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to frequently lift up to 60 pounds
Adequate fitness level to meet the demands of frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing, occasional sitting, stooping and kneeling with or without reasonable accommodation
Must have own set of basic hand tools: i.e., sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers
Team Member will operate P.I.T. equipment
Team Member will be required to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per Distribution Center requirements
Team Member will work in a climate-controlled atmosphere the majority of the time
Team Member may also work outside of the Distribution Center which may expose them to adverse weather conditions
Team Member will occasionally be required to work on a platform raised up to 60 feet
Team Member may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts or equipment, fumes and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA
Team Member will perform shift work and must be willing to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays
Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers and management teams
Has the necessary hand and motor skills needed to perform essential work activities
Identifies problems and finds solutions to them
Is committed to achieving and maintaining high standards
Consistent and dependable
Does not put self or others at risk of injury
Able to perform multiple activities successfully; establish clear goals and objectives and is effective at managing time/priorities
Applies relevant knowledge, skills and procedures to all technical aspects of the job

Preferred

High School or equivalent preferred but not need with offsetting years of experience
Six months to one year of maintenance experience, preferably in a Retail Distribution Center
Must possess two of the following six categories: (1) Electrical, (2) Conveyor Equipment, (3) Facilities Maintenance, (4) Mechanical Systems, (5) Welding (6) Plumbing
