Responsibilities
Accountable to Program Manager. Will provide trauma-informed care coordination, case management and ILS-related services, including completion of needs assessments and stabilization plans, crisis intervention, advocacy, referrals, recreational opportunities, group services, and administrative duties as assigned in coordination with university curriculum outlined in practicum learning agreement
Responsible for producing and maintaining timely program-specific documentation and internship assignments within deadlines
Responsible for scheduling and planning for individual supervision
Responsible for completing and maintaining up-to-date timesheets and monthly reports
Develop, implement, and evaluate a trauma-informed, integrated treatment approach with our youth and families that adheres to and upholds the rigorous standards of San Diego Youth Services as mandated by its mission, purpose, guiding principles and standards of quality
Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of service partner protected health information in accordance with agency policies and procedures and applicable regulations and laws, including HIPAA
Complete documentation in electronic health Record as appropriate for development as potential future staffing
Participate in agency orientation and continuing training requirements, treatment team and staff meetings
Maintain professional demeanor and boundaries with service partners, families, staff, and community partners
Establish rapport with youth and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences
Promote youth safety through supportive supervision in the facility and the community
Develop and practice basic and advanced skills training and psychoeducation with support
Follow through with risk assessments, safety planning, and mandated reporting with support
Develop and practice basic intervention skills with children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups with supervision and training
Facilitate group psychoeducation groups with Service Partners and or families/ parents
Conduct outreach to the community to enroll youth and families in appropriate services
Assist Service Partners/families with accessing available community resources as needed
Maintain clear, effective, and open communication with staff and supervisor
Participate in maintaining the daily cleanliness and order of the program facility
Develop and maintain a plan to address intrapersonal and interpersonal issues, particularly those concerning legal and ethical standards of the agency and the specific profession
Qualification
Required
Working toward Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work or related field and eligible for internship or practicum
Must be able to seek consultation and supervision while working both autonomously and in multidisciplinary teams
Effective communication and leadership required
Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity
Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care
Must have a valid California driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle
Must be willing to use personal vehicle to drive to assignments or with agency vehicle if permitted by University
Friendly demeanor and positive attitude are a necessity
Internship offer is contingent on clearances which include fingerprinting, background checks, driving record and drug testing
