Sr. Manager, Electrical

LA28 is the independent organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, aiming to deliver an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, and the community. The Senior Manager, Electrical, will oversee the development of electrical plans, manage installation and maintenance during operations, and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and IOC requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical technical design and development
Manage internal team and oversee external resources to deliver on workstream responsibilities
Develop technical engineering design guides and principles and adapt IOC requirements to local practices
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders’ requirements to develop cost effective and streamlined solutions to meet games time requirements for each venue
Manage and develop review process for plans to meet departmental milestones
Integrate and influence venue design to allow for efficient solutions
Support infrastructure requirements for Broadcast, Energy, and Technology, amongst other stakeholders
Prepare and oversee the electrical portion of the venue design books and technical publications. Advance engineering designs through increasing levels of detail for construction drawings
Support the development of integrated workplans and schedules with the infrastructure master schedule, event operations planning, and central Program Management
Partner with Finance and Procurement teams to prepare costs, elevate delivery and procurement risks, and identify savings opportunities
Support other cross-functional initiatives, including Permitting, Risk Management, and Event Operations
Oversee an installation team during operations and maintenance during the event period
Ensure compliance within workstream to Health & Safety regulations

Required

7+ years of experience with electrical infrastructure design and construction
Experience with temporary infrastructure and overlay
Experience leading diverse teams delivering complex, high-profile infrastructure projects
Advanced knowledge of engineering tools and software (Revit, AutoCAD, etc.)
Detail-oriented with excellent command of productivity and collaboration tools (Office360, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Autodesk Cloud, etc.)
Experience with key industry codes and practices
Knowledge of key electrical activities, including site preparation, installation, maintenance, and removal
Knowledge of fundamental project management concepts (e.g., scope, schedule, budget)
Familiarity with temporary infrastructure projects in addition to permanent construction
Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making
Accredited Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Highly motivated leader who fosters an environment that reflects the values and behaviors of LA28
Ability to motivate teams and work collaboratively and adapt to maximize team performance
Ability to present information concisely to wide audiences that include leadership, external contractors and advisors, and governmental agencies
Ability to work within a complex and demanding environment with many stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships
Ability to problem-solve and negotiate with stakeholders to get the best outcomes
Ability to work independently to resolve issues
Some travel as needed to venues and partner offices

Preferred

Professional Engineering license in California
Project Management and Construction Certifications
