Pennoni is a vibrant team of innovators shaping the future in the engineering field. They are hiring a Field Survey Technician to work on a variety of projects with an emphasis on Land Development, focusing on operating surveying instruments and recording survey measurements.

Responsibilities

Adjust & operate surveying instruments (e.g.: prisms, total stations, GPS/electronic distance-measuring equipment, auto-levels, etc.)
Record survey measurements & descriptive data using notes, drawings, sketches, and data collection files
Use rods for bench loops and cross-section elevations
Position targets that Operators use for sighting in order to measure angles, distances, and elevations
Search, stake, and recover sectional & property corners together with other survey monumentation
Perform manual labor, such as cutting brush to clear lines, carrying materials (i.e.: stakes, rebar, and other items), and staking survey monumentation
Perform construction staking activities
Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed

Required

High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Valid Driver's License as well as a clean driving record

Preferred

Formal training in Land Surveying or a related field of study (especially Civil Engineering)
Experience working in field-based roles with physically-demanding tasks; this is a physically-demanding position, as this person will be expected to perform manual labor
Experience with Land Surveying that provided exposure to modern survey methods, best practices, and technologies
Exposure to relevant technologies / tools (e.g.: Total Stations, HDLS, GIS, etc.); experience with RTS (Robotic Total Stations), GPS, Leica Geosystems HW & SW, and/or Faro High-Definition Laser Scanning equipment is a plus!
Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications, especially with MS-Excel
Proven ability to adapt to new situations; this person will be expected to work in a self-motivated manner while effectively multi-tasking and prioritizing multiple assignments
Proven ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
Strong attention-to-detail skills with the proven ability to work with a high-level of accuracy
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
