Project Designer
SHP is a nationally recognized architecture and design firm committed to creating impactful environments. As a Project Designer, you will gain hands-on experience in projects across education, civic, and workplace markets, collaborating with a design team to contribute to the architectural process.
Architecture & Planning
Responsibilities
Assist in the development of design concepts, drawings, and presentations for all project phases
Support the production of construction documents under the guidance of project architects and senior staff
Coordinate with internal teams and consultants to help ensure accurate, integrated project delivery
Conduct research, prepare material boards, and support code and sustainability compliance efforts
Participate in site visits, documentation reviews, and other construction administration tasks as assigned
Contribute to a collaborative studio environment and support team initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program
Architectural licensure is not required; candidates eligible for NCARB registration are encouraged to apply
Recent graduates or early-career architects with some internship or project experience
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite (or similar tools)
Basic understanding of building codes, construction documentation, and sustainable design concepts
Eager to learn from and support project teams
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a collaborative mindset
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Candidates for this role should be willing and able to travel as needed, often with short notice
Preferred
Exposure to education, civic, or commercial/institutional projects is a plus but not required
Familiarity with visualization tools such as SketchUp or Enscape is a plus
