Development Database Specialist

Italian Home for Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families. They are seeking a Development Database Specialist who will be responsible for gift processing, formal thank you acknowledgements, and database clean-up, while also managing administrative tasks for the Development Department.

Responsibilities

Manage data entry, especially gift entry from all sources (checks, online, Fidelity Charitable, etc.), update donor information, and coordinate timely acknowledgments
Ensure that all gift, contact, and donor background data is accurately and promptly entered into the database
Maintain and improve the overall integrity of the database – update records, merge duplicates, enter new information provided by donors, prospects, or staff
Coordinate agency in-kind gift tracking and acknowledgements
Respond to donor inquiries while conveying a professional manner along with a willingness to help; provide reliable, accurate, and timely responses to questions from internal and external stakeholders

Required

1 year of work or relevant experience, including proficiency with database entry, or nonprofit experience, or fundraising environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
Attention to detail and accuracy is required
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Excellent oral communication, interpersonal, and writing skills
Commitment to confidentiality in all matters related to Italian Home for Children business, development, and fundraising practices
Ability to function effectively in a small team environment
Demonstrate sensitivity and appreciation for diverse viewpoints and different communication styles in a politically and culturally diverse environment
