Responsibilities

Conduct boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and construction layout surveys using GPS, total stations, and other instruments
Collect, analyze, and certify survey data for public and private projects
Prepare plats, legal descriptions, and technical reports
Plan and schedule survey projects, including budgeting and resource allocation
Supervise and train survey crews; ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to support project planning and execution
Maintain accurate field notes, logs, and digital records
Interpret and apply engineering plans and specifications
Use CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D), Trimble, Carlson, and GIS tools for mapping and modeling
Utilize 3D scanning, GNSS, and aerial photogrammetry where applicable

Required

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Active Ohio Professional Surveyor (PS) license required
Strong knowledge of surveying principles, local laws, and safety practices
Proficiency in survey instruments and technical software
Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment
If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role
Valid driver's license
A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Preferred

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
Minimum 3 years of field surveying experience, preferably in civil or transportation projects
