Structural Analysis Engineer - Aerospace

Responsibilities

Provide structural analysis support for aircraft wheels, brakes, and brake control system components, working collaboratively with teams of designers and engineers
Support product design/development and matters impacting safety, product integrity, obsolescence, concessions, and in-service use
Analyze and size structures for strength, stiffness, fatigue, damage tolerance, or combinations thereof
Identify suitable materials for structural applications, material properties, and design allowables
Support material characterization, prototype, and qualification testing
Communicate decisions and formalize recommendations impacting areas of responsibility
Frequent interaction with internal and external partners and customers, and other departments within Parker, providing technical assistance and guidance

Required

Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering or related degree
8+ years of relevant experience with a strong background in structural and structural dynamics analysis
Experience with linear and non-linear statics, buckling, stability, fatigue, and linear dynamic analyses
Experience with analysis of free and forced vibration of damped systems
Background in fracture mechanics/crack propagation analysis
Proficiency with CAD and finite element analysis tools such as CATIA and ANSYS
Excellent planning, organizational, multi-tasking, decision making, problem solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completion
Proficient at technical/specification writing and technical report generation

Preferred

Advanced degree is a plus
Background in metallurgical, materials, and/or failure analyses would be beneficial
