Electrical Field Test Technician

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, and maintain electrical substations and transmission switchyards
Work with electrical equipment, such as SF6 and vacuum circuit breakers, pad mount transformers/GSU transformers, grounding, instrument transformers, and variance of switches both manual and motor operated
Performing High, Medium, and Low voltage testing of electrical power equipment
Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning
Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed. Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation
Position to be performed at various unanticipated locations throughout the state of Arizona
Position will report to local office in Gilbert, AZ

Required

Requires an Associate's degree in Electronic/Electrical Technology and 2 years of experience as a NETA Technician, OEM Electrical Equipment Technician, Lineman, or Electrician OR a Powerline Technician Certificate of Qualification and 4 years of experience as a NETA Technician, OEM Electrical Equipment Technician, Lineman, or Electrician
Have experience in each of the following skills: Transformer testing 480v – 500kv+, Switchgear and PT's, Cable testing 600v – 35kv, Aerial lift and bucket truck work, MV hot work; and Fall protection usage
