Responsibilities

Attendance at work site as scheduled

Collect garbage and pick-up litter in parks

Clean and maintain park restrooms

Report any concerns with the condition of parks such as vandalism or patrons behaving inappropriately

Wear personal protective equipment for job function when needed

Maintain effective two-way communication while dealing with concerns in the field with all district staff and immediate supervisor

Carry two way or cell phone communication at all times while working

Provide a high quality of customer service in a professional manner to the internal customer that will facilitate team building and exceptional customer service to the external customer

Follow the Wheaton Park District policies, procedures, and guidelines

Proactively support the V.A.L.U.E.S. (integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability and growth, kindness, and service) on a daily basis

Maintain good safety awareness and follow all safety guidelines and procedures

Required

Minimum eighteen (18) years of age

Must have good communication and time management skills

Be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

Must be able to continuously walk/move and position one's self to perform maintenance

Occasionally climb stairs/ladder, repetitive use of hands/arms, vibration and grasping while working with tools and equipment

Move objects such as ladders, tools, equipment, etc. weighing up to 50 lbs., and over 50 lbs. with assistance

Must be able to drive

Must be able to handle all weather conditions while traveling between facilities

Frequently encounter rain, snow, insects, dirt, poisonous plants, grease, oil, mud

Occasional confined spaces, heights over 12 feet, fumes, gases, odors, dust, mold, animal hair, dander, feces, noise over 85 dbls., wet, slippery floors and surfaces
