The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting the company's overall financial health through various accounting functions and process improvements.

Responsibilities

Oversee and support the cash reconciliation process, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
Maintain and review general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are posted accurately and in a timely manner
Assist in the monthly and annual close processes, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations (prepaid, accruals, month-end allocations, and bank accounts), and the generation of financial statements
Provide in-depth analysis of financial results during month-end close to support decision-making and reporting
Manage and reconcile prepaid and accrual schedules, including posting appropriate entries and ensuring proper documentation
Reconcile sales activity reports to ensure consistency and accuracy of revenue-related data
Prepare and deliver ad hoc financial reports and support special projects as assigned
Continuously seek and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency of accounting operations and strengthen financial reporting accuracy

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in accountingMicrosoft ExcelERP systemsAnalytical skillsFood industry experienceSelf-starterAttention to detail

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting
3+ years of relevant work experience
Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (Sage X3, Sage 100, Sage 500) preferred
Self-starter, motivated
Strong analytical skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred

Food industry experience a plus
Commutability
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a wide demographic
Ability to travel to all Citarella locations
