Scrum Master
ECS is seeking a Scrum Master to work in their Fairfax, VA office. The Scrum Master will serve as a servant leader and coach for an Agile team, ensuring adherence to Agile practices while facilitating team events and removing impediments to foster high-performing team dynamics.

Responsibilities
Facilitate Agile Events: Organize and facilitate key Agile events, including Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives
Support the Team: Assist the team in meeting their delivery goals by coaching them in self-organization and self-management
Remove Impediments: Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team’s progress
Promote SAFe Practices: Educate the team on SAFe principles and practices, including Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP)
Coordinate with ART (Agile Release Train): Work closely with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and the Release Train Engineer (RTE) to ensure alignment and coordination across the ART
Facilitates preparation and readiness for ART events. Assist the team in preparation for ART activities, including backlog refinement and supporting upcoming Planning Intervals
Coordinate with other teams: Support the team’s efforts to continuously improve communications and relationships with other teams. Represent the team in the Scrum of Scrums (SoS), helping the team remain aware of opportunities to engage and improve program effectiveness
Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to identify and implement process enhancements
Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing updates on team progress, risks, and dependencies
Qualification
Required
Experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment
Knowledge of Agile practices and principles, including Scrum, Kanban, and Extreme Programming (XP)
Ability to facilitate Agile events such as Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Iteration Reviews, and Retrospectives
Experience in coaching teams in self-organization and self-management
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills for stakeholder communication
Ability to identify and remove impediments that hinder team progress
Experience working with Agile Release Trains (ART) and coordinating with other Scrum Masters and Product Owners
Aptitude and enthusiasm for continuous learning and improvement
Experience in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within teams
