GenAI UX Developer

Responsibilities
Develop and implement user interface components for products that integrate Generative AI capabilities, focusing on delivering clean, maintainable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code using standard frameworks
Accurately translate provided wireframes and design specifications into functional, responsive front-end experiences
Work with senior engineers to connect the front-end components to GenAI model APIs, assisting in the handling and display of AI-generated outputs
Implement pre-defined, common Generative AI interaction patterns, such as prompt input fields and mechanisms for displaying generated content and basic 'thumbs up/down' feedback
Develop code with a consideration for front-end performance and adhere to established usability and accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG)
Build initial prototypes for testing specific GenAI interaction concepts based on clear direction and iterate on code based on gathered feedback
Participate in agile team meetings and collaborate primarily with UX/UI designers and back-end engineers to ensure design and code alignment
Utilize GenAI tools to assist in their own coding and testing workflows
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, HCI, or a related field or equivalent work experience
7+ years of experience with core web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+); Experience with one modern JavaScript framework/library (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js)
Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first principles; Experience using Git for version control
Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to interpret basic UX wireframes and design systems
Basic awareness of Generative AI concepts (how LLMs and image models work at a high level); Familiarity with consuming RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints
Ability to debug routine front-end issues and proactively seek assistance for complex problems
Comfort using design tools like Figma or Sketch for design inspection
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with cross-functional teams; Curious, proactive, and detail-oriented with a focus on visual accuracy
Preferred
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) experience
Expertise in UX design and architecture in an enterprise organization
Experience in Google Cloud Platform
Experience designing and enhancing UX on internal and external applications
Digital portfolio of UX design work
Champion for overall UX vision and strategy for GenAI-powered applications, features, and experiences
Experience designing and launching products that incorporate AI/ML, particularly GenAI
