Responsibilities

Build, mentor, and inspire world-class data science teams across Pricing, Merchandising, and Supply Chain domains, driving innovation and measurable business outcomes
Develop and execute the roadmap for Walmart’s next-generation AI and data science platform—a unified ecosystem that scales across US and international markets to support pricing optimization, inventory planning, and omnichannel merchandising
Champion the creation of agentic AI systems—autonomous, context-aware solutions that reason, act, and adapt dynamically to real-world business needs. These include intelligent decision agents for demand forecasting, supply chain resilience, pricing elasticity, and assortment personalization
Partner with technology, product, and business leadership to operationalize advanced machine learning and causal inference models into production environments at enterprise scale
Collaborate with Walmart International’s data and product organizations to ensure alignment of AI model governance frameworks across markets, driving consistent insights and platform interoperability
Embed responsible AI principles into Walmart’s modeling ecosystem—ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability across automated decision systems

Required

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 7 years' experience in an analytics related field
Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years' experience in an analytics related field
9 years' experience in an analytics or related field
3 years' supervisory experience

Preferred

15+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or AI-related fields, with 7+ years in senior leadership
Proven success leading AI and ML initiatives in global retail, eCommerce, or supply chain domains
Expertise in AI platforms, MLOps, and agentic AI systems using frameworks such as LangChain, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and reinforcement learning paradigms
Deep understanding of pricing science, demand forecasting, optimization, and retail merchandising
Demonstrated ability to partner with engineering and product teams to deliver enterprise-scale solutions
Advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in Computer Science, AI, Statistics, Operations Research, or related field
Data science, machine learning, optimization models, PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics
Successful completion of one or more assessments in Python, Spark, Scala, or R
Supervisory experience
Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch)
