Responsibilities

Lead youth in environmental education, trips, campfires, and community building
Actively engage with staff and students during daily activities, lessons, and meals
Receive training and mentorship to begin leading lessons in environmental education and Maine ecology
Live on-site, in a vibrant camp community
Gain first-hand experience in youth development, outdoor leadership, and environmental stewardship

Required

Prior experience working with children in a camp, school, or recreational setting

Responsible decision-making skills to ensure camper safety and well-being

Preferred

Familiarity with outdoor living skills, natural sciences, or ecology
Experience leading groups (even informally) and a desire to grow into an educational leadership role
Willingness to carry a small backpack with teaching supplies and a first aid kit while supervising activities
Exposure to or interest in activities such as hiking, canoeing, fishing, archery, riflery, or outdoor cooking
