Responsibilities

Responsible for team leadership and development to ensure motivation of Systems team members to inspire optimum performance
Provide leadership and guidance to Systems & Automation team members to ensure the highest levels of project management & delivery, customer service, and systems & automation support for entire project life cycle
Responsible for ensuring project management and team objectives and targets are met
Responsible for driving and leading Project Management and project life cycles
Monitor individual and team performance, providing training, coaching, and feedback to ensure associates are productive and meeting or exceeding expectations
Conduct regular meetings to review goals, discuss challenges, and align strategies
Support business efficiency, maintenance, & growth through development of logistic solutions, new product initiatives, sales strategies, and marketing plans to develop new business
Support consistent delivery and on-time completion of systems & automation projects
Create and develop strategies to implement, achieve or exceed company and departmental goals and ensure financial targets are met or exceeded
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Racking, Mezzanine, shelving, conveyor, and allied equipment projects
Responsible for overall performance of the Warehouse Products organization including planning, budgeting, administration, project planning, and marketing strategy
Ensure all team members follow and perform safe working practices adhering to all company compliance activities
Actively engage in the recruiting process with the recruiting team to interview and hire new associates
Design, develop, and implement training and development plans for new associates to ensure the highest levels of project management, customer service and systems & automation billing and administrative support
Support Systems’ associate’s in building and maintaining positive relationships with customers through regular onsite visits and communication
Support the optimization and retention and renewal of current contracts and existing customer accounts
Monitor entire project life cycle to ensure on-time and quality progression
Assist with building customer quotes and delivering active customer quote reports to SSMH leadership
Stay up-to-date and familiar with permitting needs and process for all projects
Oversee the design of warehouse solutions and assist in designing space needs and completing space needs analysis
Aim to thoroughly understand a customer’s business environment responding to complex business conditions
Work to actively resolve customer and team inquiries and issues effectively and efficiently
Conduct surveys & complete consulting studies
Conduct product demonstrations and presentations
Travel to customer sites for sales calls and presentations
Oversee and manage inventory of stocked material with internal Systems & Automation team
Stay abreast of industry trends and conditions, and customer industries to effectively influence strategy
Participate in industry related trade shows and seminars as required
Network, create and maintain positive connections with outside contacts such as customers, suppliers, and other dealers
Promote confidence and trust within the Systems Division and customer base
Coordinate marketing efforts with both Marketing Branding and Market Development functions including management and implementation of customer intelligence marketing and customer communication programs
Maintain and accurately forecast company's booking and revenues for the Warehouse Product Division to executive management
Participation in compliance activities that support company policy and procedures
Fulfill leadership-required administrative duties for all reporting personnel. These may include, but are not limited to, timecard reviews, annual reviews, counseling sessions, PCRs, one-on-ones, audits, tracking, scheduling and performance management

Required

Must possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in Systems & Automation field
High School diploma or equivalent required
Must possess knowledge of material handling or static warehouse solutions industry including racking, mezzanine, shelving, conveyors, and allied equipment
Project management experience required
Proven experience in building and maintaining strong customer and vendor relationships
Experience creating and maintaining positive interpersonal communication with project contacts and stakeholders
Proven experience in monitoring competitive products and marketing activities
Experience participating in or maintaining an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement
Proven experience successfully participating in a cross-functional environment
Successful experience fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
Proven experience in developing, executing, and implementing assignments and tasks
Excellent presentation experience in showcase company products in one-on-one settings or to large gathering of potential customers
Demonstrated ability and proven track record in sales leadership, generating new sales prospects, securing new business, and expanding territory sales growth
Must possess strong project management skills
Must possess consultative abilities to assist customers in identifying their requirements and present recommendations on the most appropriate solutions
Possess high level of motivation with a strong urgency to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively with general business acumen
Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain superior attention to detail
Proven ability to understand customer needs and business processes, establishing SSMH as a valued resource, understanding the customer's decision-making process with respect to supplier selection
Maintain the ability to think creatively to understand and find solutions among associates, customers, suppliers, and other partnerships
Excellent oral and written skills for production of proposals, presentation, and correspondence with customers
Proven people-management skills monitoring and evaluating performance to address associate accountability, development, and growth
High degree of computer proficiency including competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Outlook
Working knowledge and capabilities with AutoCAD required
Must possess ability to read blueprints
Able to document tasks, responsibilities, and objectives and report to upper-level management
Able to enforce company policy and procedures
Ability to assist in resolving conflict in the workplace

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, automation, or related field preferred
Experience with Conveyor VLM, lighter automation and radio shuttles preferred
PMP certification or Certified Automation Professional (CAP) preferred
