Mechanical Engineer II

Responsibilities
Requirement Generation: Participate in teams to establish clear, unambiguous, and measurable requirements for products and improvements by building solutions
Lead development for new and existing products. Resolve component sizes and mechanical elements like gearboxes, couplers, belts, and springs. Perform interference and tolerance analysis. Prepare specifications and assembly documentation
Build Analysis: Conduct analyses on components or assemblies for static or dynamic load calculations to settle factors of safety or load ratings
Test Development: Define, participate in, or coordinate the creation of test methods for mechanical systems as part of instrument development
Product Development Participation: Collaborate with project teams to complete mechanical builds and product risk analyses. Maintain project schedules and complete assigned projects within allocated hours
Production and Service Support: Respond to requests regarding build interpretation, functional operation, or product performance
Technical Writing: Build or coordinate the production of technical reports or product documentation. Maintain an Engineering Notebook for development notes and idea disclosures. Contribute to defining guidelines or standard operating procedures for effective design processes within the QMS
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or A.S. in an Engineering-related field accompanied by 7 years of experience
At least 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering
Proficient in CAD build software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor, Pro Engineer)
Shown understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, vibration, thermodynamics, and mechanics of materials
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on mechanical build
Proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project, and other relevant software
Ability to translate customer and market needs into mechanical builds
