The Bankruptcy Paralegal will work closely with attorneys to prepare and file legal documents, manage case files, attend to court procedures, and ensure compliance with bankruptcy law.

Responsibilities

Draft, file, and manage pleadings, petitions, schedules, motions, and disclosure statements in federal bankruptcy court
Prepare Chapter 7, 11, and 13 filings with precision and compliance
Coordinate with trustees, creditors, and court personnel
Maintain and organize case files, calendars, and docket systems
Conduct legal research and compile financial data for case analysis
Assist in adversary proceedings and contested matters
Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in client interactions

Qualification

Bankruptcy law expertiseLegal document preparationCM/ECF proficiencyBest Case softwareJubilee softwareOrganizational skillsVerbal communicationWritten communicationProblem-solving skills

Required

Paralegal certification preferred; prior experience in bankruptcy or legal environments required
Proficiency in legal document preparation and tools such as Best Case and Jubilee
In-depth understanding of bankruptcy law, especially Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 processes
Familiarity with court procedures and electronic filing systems (CM/ECF)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities
Ability to handle sensitive client information with discretion

Preferred

Experience with high-asset individual or business bankruptcies
Familiarity with UCC filings, lien analysis, and creditor negotiations
Comfort working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
Collaborative mindset and proactive problem-solving skills
