Responsibilities
Lead and prepare transportation design plans and 3D models for ODOT, LPA, and municipal roadway projects
Perform and check a variety of design calculations, including drainage design, quantities, maintenance of traffic, and pavement design
Develop design packages for milestone submittals, including special provisions, cost estimates, and bid documents
Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior staff, helping them grow their design and project skills
Collaborate with teams across offices, supporting MDOT projects and other multi-disciplinary initiatives as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering
EIT certification required
5–9 years of relevant experience in roadway or transportation design
Proficiency in MicroStation required
Familiarity with ODOT standards and experience preparing plans for DOT and municipal clients
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred
PE license or active pursuit of PE
