Assistant Attorney General Professional and Financial Regulation Division
The State of Maine is seeking an Assistant Attorney General within the Professional and Financial Regulation Division. This role involves providing legal counsel to various professional licensing boards and handling disciplinary complaints against licensed professionals, along with performing legal analysis and defending agency decisions in court.

Responsibilities
Provide legal counsel to various professional licensing boards and programs within and affiliated with the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation and/or financial regulatory agencies within the Department
Handle disciplinary complaints against licensed professionals and entities
Provide legal analysis and opinions on regulatory matters
Perform agency rule review
Defend agency decisions on appeal to the Superior Court
Enforce agency orders in court
Qualification
Required
The applicant must be a member of the Maine Bar in good standing
have an eye for legal detail
be interested in complex state regulation
have strong legal advocacy and writing skills
have a demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team
Preferred
One to three years of legal practice with demonstrated proficiency in administrative law and litigation
