Responsibilities

You will provide services and support for the accomplishment of SSNB, SSGN, and visiting submarine hull, mechanical, and electrical (HM and E) systems and equipment repair, maintenance, alteration, testing, and inspection work
You will manage and direct the operation and work the Technical Support Group
You will oversee the effectiveness of the group in terms of command goals, cost, quality, timeliness of completion, coordination of products and services, and assume accountability for personnel, facilities, equipment, and resources
You will define, plan, prepare for, guide, and execute performance of the Technical Support Group in support of refit maintenance and related activities
You will work as a supervisor an assign work by discussing timeframes, and scope of subordinate's assignments including potential stages and approaches

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites

Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current IT-II level designation
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience planning and executing comprehensive shop, combat systems, and HM&E systems maintenance, repairs, and modification capabilities and programs
Experience analyzing workload projections and requirements as defined by ship schedules, maintenance and LDS feedback, scheduled intermediate maintenance, modifications and installations, emergency reports, and other sources in order to define, schedule, and properly plan operations near and long term
Experience monitoring the effectiveness of maintenance activities from both submarine support and management perspectives and monitoring labor utilization, time and rate of repairs, technical integrity of work produced, and feedback to assure readiness and delivery of all required maintenance
Experience directing, coordinating, or overseeing the work of civilian and/or military personnel and exercising responsibility in dealing with officials of other units and division in advising management officials of a higher rank
