Area Sales Manager - Packaging Equipment

The role of Area Sales Manager involves managing a territory to sell industrial capital equipment, focusing on customer interaction, driving revenue, and building strong relationships in various manufacturing sectors.
Responsibilities
Promote the value of coding and marking products and services to the customers within the specified geographic territory with the goal of improving sales revenue growth and market penetration
Understand Companies' value proposition and customer needs as well as business levels that impact value to prepare and successfully negotiate contracts with positive outcomes
Develop and share customer and market trends and competitive intelligence with counterparts (marketing, research, technical service, customer service, supply chain, etc.) to promote increased market knowledge and capitalize on potential opportunities to increase revenue and/or profitability
Building strong, long-term customer relationships, based on value, that will enable customer retention
Responsibility for conducting revenue generating activities including business development (cold calling), product demonstration/presentations, generating quotes, etc
Prioritize opportunities for equipment sales growth and the specific actions required to capture them
Improving sales efficiency and effectiveness through the rigorous use of sales tools such as "sales funnels" and "return on investment-based selling"
Qualification
Required
Prior experience in outside sales selling labels or industrial capital equipment into manufacturing facilities
Being able to communicate effectively with all levels within an organization, from front line operators to senior management
Experience with product demonstrations
Ability to utilize effective time and territory strategies
Willingness to acquire new customers by cold calling, networking, social media campaigns, etc
Preferred
Experience selling packaging equipment or industrial automation solutions a plus
Exposure to value selling, ROI selling, or strategic selling desirable
