Traveling Maintenance Technician

New Grad, Entry LevelThoroughbred Express Auto Wash is seeking a Traveling Maintenance Technician for a hands-on role that provides extensive paid training in mechanical and electrical systems. The technician will travel across multiple states to diagnose, repair, and maintain car wash equipment while gaining valuable real-world experience.

Responsibilities
Travel: required 2-3 weeks per month across assigned districts in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia. Will typically work afternoon/evening shifts when traveling to complete work orders after operating hours
Tool & Equipment Use: Uses a variety of hand and power tools—including hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches—and operates hydraulic, electrical, and electronic testing equipment
Work Order Management: Use the company Operations Portal to review, prioritize, document, and close work orders daily
Training & Development: Trains and supports Site Managers to strengthen their preventative maintenance capabilities and ensure long-term site reliability
Mechanical & Electrical Repair: Assembles, installs, or repairs wiring, electrical/electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and car wash machinery
Other Duties: Performs other related responsibilities as assigned to support overall operations and maintenance excellence
Qualification
Required
Thorough understanding of electronics principles and design
Clean driving record
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Ability to pull a trailer
Detail-orientated and organized
Excellent problem-solving ability
Ability to follow highly complex directions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds
Ability to distinguish various colors of wires and distinguish electronic system sections and wiring
