Responsibilities

Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering eco-hydraulic, geomorphic, and civil engineering projects for hydropower, dam modification, and water-resource systems
Manage project scope, schedule, and budget; serve as primary client and agency point of contact during FERC relicensing, CEQA/NEPA, and design phases
Oversee 2D hydrodynamic, sediment transport, and instream flow modeling to evaluate infrastructure operations, channel response, and environmental performance
Guide integration of hydrology, geomorphology, and ecology into technical studies and adaptive management strategies
Provide QA/QC on technical deliverables, ensuring methodological consistency and regulatory compliance
Lead preparation of technical reports, modeling appendices, and environmental permitting documentation
Mentor junior engineers and scientists in modeling, technical writing, and professional development
Contribute to proposal development, client presentations, and business growth initiatives

Required

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil, water resources, or geomorphology-focused engineering
Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects involving hydropower, dam safety or modification, river restoration, or watershed management
Strong understanding of fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, hydraulics, and sediment transport processes
Demonstrated proficiency with 2D hydraulic and sediment transport modeling tools (e.g., HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, RiverFlow2D)
Advanced skills in GIS-based terrain and spatial analysis (ArcGIS Pro or QGIS); familiarity with Python or R for data analysis preferred
Excellent project management skills, including scope, schedule, and budget control
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports, regulatory documentation, and client presentations
Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary technical teams
Commitment to mentoring and developing junior staff
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field required

Preferred

Master's degree preferred (Hydrology, Fluvial Geomorphology, or Water Resources focus)
Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
