Responsibilities

Perform necessary maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC systems, to include repairing leaks, adjusting refrigerant levels, filter changes, and drain line cleaning
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, historic aircraft and wheeled vehicles as a co-joined member of team mechanical shop
Adheres to all safety and environmental regulatory requirements pertaining to job duties. Maintain EPA licensing
Performs other duties as assigned to accomplish the mission of the Agency

Required

High school diploma and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis
Knowledge and skills to correctly and safely perform skilled installation and maintenance on shipboard and landside HVAC systems
Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials and supplies used
Skill in the use of various trade tools and equipment
Work with minimal supervision and have the ability to make on site assessments regarding repair methods and costs
Capable of installing new HVAC units when required with upgraded refrigerant
Employee may be required to work after normal working hours, on weekends, holidays, emergencies, and/or special events
Employee is in a position designated as an 'essential personnel,' therefore, employee may be required to stay onboard USS Yorktown as part of an emergency crew during named storms to provide support during the storm, to conduct post-disaster damage assessment, and to take initial recovery actions following the storm
