Finance Supervisor (Caesars New Orleans)

Caesars Entertainment is a leading casino-entertainment company, and they are seeking a Finance Supervisor for their New Orleans location. The role involves supervising the Non-gaming Accounts Receivable/Collections department, ensuring timely billing and collections, and participating in month-end accounting processes.

Responsibilities

Responsible for interviewing, training, and selecting employees for the department
Conduct Performance Reviews in accordance with policies and procedures
Review, analyze and make recommendations with respect to wage increases; promotions; or demotions as needed
Respond to and handle employee complaints (grievances) in a timely and efficient manner
Recommend or take appropriate action when administering disciplinary processes in accordance with established policies and procedures
Responsible for planning, supervising and monitoring the work of the team members in assigned area(s)
Responsible for monitoring legal compliance with federal, state and gaming laws
Prepares and keys journal entries as needed
Analysis may require detailed research into various books and records
Verifies the accuracy of information transmitted to the financial reporting system
Completes supervisory responsibility for accounts payable, inventory control and payroll, and will provide back-up support for these functions as required
Responsible for controlling uniform purchases and inventory conforming to budget projections for each user department
Demonstrates expertise in all service standards and clearly communicates expectations to team members
Rigorously hold all team members accountable for exhibiting all service standards at all times and ensure they know the value that these behaviors create for the guests, employees and Company
Models a passion for the Company mission, vision and values as well as inspiring team members to do the same
Must be an effective coach and developer of team members by using the leader coaching skills to get, guide and root for employees
Works to improve service breakdowns to minimize or prevent impact to our guests and/or employees
Creates onboarding training experiences for new hires to set them up for success
Creates and update training and development tools
Motivates the team to work toward peak performance
Consistently manages employee labor through efficient scheduling and staffing to business volume and demand
Demonstrates ways of reducing cost when executing on inventories and ordering
Must think creatively and innovatively to identify cost savings opportunities at all times
Train department trainers to execute top notch training for new hires
Assists in special projects as required
Assists in the preparation of financial reporting as required
Must adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies
Other duties as assigned

Required

3-5 years of experience in financial reporting and general ledger environment is required
Successful completion of the Supervisor Leadership Assessment Program (SuperLAP) is required
Computer skills required
Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team
Must present a well-groomed appearance
Must be able to work independently
Must be self-motivated and able to handle more than one function at a time by being well organized
Must be able to continuously maneuver around an office environment
Must effectively work at a desk for long periods of time
Must be able to respond to written and aural cues
Must have the manual dexterity to operate the computer and other necessary office equipment
Must be able to respond calmly to demands of internal customers and work in pressure situations
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds above or below shoulders
Must be able to tolerate areas that contain secondary smoke

Preferred

Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred
