High Voltage Physical Design Engineer

Hut 8 is on a mission to build and operate some of the world’s largest data centers for next-generation computing workloads. The High Voltage Physical Design Engineer will apply engineering principles to manage medium to large sized EPC projects and develop detailed design documents while coordinating QA/QC reviews.

Responsibilities

Independently make decisions regarding engineering problems and methods

Utilizing intuition and innovation independently solve design problems

Instill a professional image with all dealings with Hut 8 clients, as well as interpersonal relationships with team members. Provide encouragement, insight, mentoring and challenge to team members under your supervision

Utilizing advanced techniques, precepts and practices of the engineering field and related sciences and disciplines, independently carry out engineering assignments based on the International Electrical Codes (IEC) as well as American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Coordinate QA/QC design reviews as well as final sign-off of documents issued for procurement and construction

Develop the detailed design documents, including but not limited to, General Arrangements, Sectional Elevations, Installation Details, Conduit & Grounding Layouts and Details, Foundation and Steel Design

Perform lightning, lighting, and bus calculations

Generate specifications and BOMs of substation equipment for pricing and procurement

Travel to the project site required

Required

BSEE or BSCE with minimum 5 years' experience, or an M.S. degree in engineering with sufficient experience required for advancement as determined by management, or a combination of applicable education and experience as determined by management; professional registration or expectation of achieving professional registration within a specified time period

While performing the duties of this position the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods of time; occasionally lift a maximum of 20 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, ability to adjust focus
