Responsibilities

Prepares for and instructs transfer-level classes (lecture and laboratory) in the discipline of Engineering
Communicate expectations and establish clear grading criteria through appropriate instructional means, to include but not limited to developing course syllabi, handouts, and materials supporting the instructional process; evaluates student progress and provides clear, timely feedback
Provide availability and accessibility to students through a combination of scheduled office hours, e-mail, and other effective means of responsive and timely communication
Provide timely feedback and support to students
Maintain accurate records for course grades
Participates in district, division, departmental or general faculty meetings; in-service training; curriculum development; academic consulting, workshops or seminars; service on district or college councils or committees, or other activities within the scope of this position
Complies with district policy, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statue and collective bargaining agreements
Complies with state and federal laws applicable to professional duties and responsibilities; follows established procedures in areas such as printing, turning in grades, bookstore orders, office support, student financial aid requirements, safety and health issues and related administrative processes
Uses effective teaching methods to support and to enhance student learning inside and outside of the classroom
Support and advance the Spokane Colleges strategic plan and perform other duties as assigned

Required

An earned Master's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and effectively, whether in person or virtually, verbally or in writing
Acceptance of the responsibility to promote the welfare and best interests of students at all times
A demonstrable understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals and objectives of Spokane Colleges
The ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution, community and technical college system
