Responsibilities

Oversee the implementation of student success programs and services, including high-impact initiatives that advance students' personal, professional, and academic development, to support the retention and graduation rates of Latine/x students
Lead La Casita staff in designing and implementing culturally relevant programs, workshops, events, and engagement opportunities that foster identity development and connect students with campus resources
Develop and administer assessments of student learning outcomes to support an evidence-based approach to revising La Casita’s programming, goals, and priorities
Provide leadership and advising to cultural advisory committees and student organizations, to support with crisis intervention, guidance, support, and advocacy for students, staff, and faculty
Collaborate with the Culture & Identity Centers and key campus constituents to implement campus-wide programs and initiatives that advance intersectional DEIJ efforts, particularly those aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of issues impacting Latine/x students

Required

Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the ethnic studies, behavioral sciences, public or business administration or a job-related field
Two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field
1 year of managerial/leadership experience required
Working knowledge of current trends, issues, polices statewide and national impacting Latinx student success
Knowledge and experience working with multicultural/multi-ethnic populations, students that are historically under-represented, and low-income and first-generation college students
Skills in working with campus administrators, faculty, staff and students to address complex issues and situations
Ability to handle sensitive situations and ability to maintain objectivity skills in working with students in crisis and referral mechanisms
Ability to advise students, staff and faculty individually and in groups on complex matters and refer as needed to appropriate departments
Ability to pursue grants and fund-raising opportunities
Ability to supervise and evaluate the work of others and ability to speak and make presentations in a variety of public settings

Preferred

Master's degree in one of the behavioral sciences, ethnic studies, counseling, student affairs/higher education administration, or closely related field is preferred
Spanish fluency is preferred
